Brenda is an editor with more than 30 years of experience in publishing, with projects ranging from college course materials to cowboy poetry. A longtime development editor and former acquisitions editor, she enjoys diving into the many areas of content development and strategy for a wide variety of digital, multimedia, and print works. She is equally at home with all levels of editing and loves learning something new from every project that comes her way.
Always a reader, Brenda followed her interest in books to a BA in communication arts and English at Hastings College in her native Nebraska and an MA in professional writing and publishing at Emerson College in Boston. She began her publishing career at Westview Press in Boulder, Colorado.
In her spare time, Brenda likes to quilt, read, and watch baseball. She lives in Colorado.
If I weren’t a writer/editor, I would be: working in a bookstore, a quilt shop, or a cat café, perhaps. Honestly, though, it’s hard for me to imagine not writing or editing!
My morning routine is: drinking coffee and playing word games.
I most admire: people who live with joy and compassion.
My superpower is: patience.
